Manager needed for MTNA email list
MTNA plans to initiate an email list for notifying Mt. Tabor residents about events and discussing local concernsand the list will need a manager. Someone with experience in administering email lists would be best, but if you enjoy working on your computer and staying abreast of happenings, this could be for you. If you are interested, please email Diane at redd-wilson@juno.com. If you want to sign up to be on the list, please check the box at the bottom of the survey.
Summer park bike races set
The Mt. Tabor Series bicycle race will be held on Wednesday evenings, June 9July 14. For information on competing, see www.tinyurl.com/spww. Spectators can watch the action for free near the parking lot by the basketball courts. Cyclists are on the course from 5 to 9 p.m., with racing starting at 6 p.m. To volunteer, email clarkritchie@yahoo.com or call 503/936-2575.
Neighborhoods to join in soccer
Interested in joining your neighbors in playing a friendly soccer match against other neighborhoods? Pete Jacobs (503/231-8946) is putting together a neighborhood league and asked if the Mt. Tabor neighborhood wants to form a team. All ages are welcome. MTNA will take names of interested players, coaches, and managers and help organize the first meeting. A fun parade for all
The Taylor Court Grocery (1135 SE 80th) will host its annual neighborhood block party and street parade on July 10, noon to 4 p.m. Parade elements are whatever neighborhood treasures we can find: classic cars, con-vertibles, birthday people, 50th anniversary couples, kids on bikes, entertainers, public figures, and whoever else we can pull together to make a neighborhood get-together special.
