1. MOTION: March minutes approved as revised: Nancy Norby moved; Dave Hilts second. Passed unanimously.

2. Bill Wong presented Treasurer’s Report (in file).

III. MTNA BUSINESS and ISSUES

1. Katy Steding, Warner Pacific College Director of Public Relations updated the MTNA on Warner Pacific’s master plan. Advised that current plan does not overlay the Mt Tabor Maintenance Yard. She advised that College had no plans of moving, but would pursue expansion if the adjoining MT Tabor Maintenance yard became available. MOTION: Paul Leistner moved that Mark Bartlett serve as liaison to the Warner Pacific planning committee; Nancy Norby second. Motion passed.

2. Gayle Marechal called for volunteers for the 2007 MTNA Neighborhood Cleanup to be held Saturday, May 5, 2007.

3. Gayle Marechal called for Newsletter Submissions.

4. Dave Hilts provided an MTNA Land Use Committee Update. He advised that planning sided with the neighborhood regarding its appeal regarding the project at 2251 SE 76th Avenue near Sherman. Only 7 townhouses approved. No pedestrian right of way will be required.

5. John Laursen updated the MTNA on Mt. Tabor Entryway Fundraising and Construction Progress. Traffic signals working, bronzes being fabricated. Nancy Norby and Stan Terpstra of the Friends of Mt Tabor Park advised the MTNA that the Friends board authorized a $2000.00 donation for completion of the entryway project.

6. Justin Leonard called for nominations for the Elections for Board Members/Officers at Annual Meeting on May 16. He explained committees are a neat way to get involved with the neighborhood association without serving on the board.

7. Justin Leonard informed the MTNA that the Office of Neighborhood Involvement (ONI) has new guidelines. The MTNA will require bylaw revisions.

8. Cascade Anderson-Geller and John Laursen updated those present on a proposed World War I Reservoir Memorial. They advised that the Veterans of Foreign Wars offered several proposals at the meeting held 4/16/07. These included a renaming reservoir 6 for longtime Mt Tabor resident Howard Ramsey who died at 108 years old as Oregon’s oldest WW1 veteran. Lois Heying read a letter from Floy Jones of the Friends of the Reservoir opposing any memorial. MOTION: Paul Leistner moved: We (the MTNA) support the exploration of the creation of a memorial and community dialogue regarding the issue. Nancy Norby seconded. Motion Passed.

9. Nancy Norby provided an update regarding Upper Hawthorne Businesses Good Neighbor Agreement- no meeting since last MTNA meeting.

10. Paul Leistner provided a Southeast Uplift (SEUL) update.

11. Nancy Norby provided Friends of Mt Tabor Park (FMTP) update. Advised that FMTP has obtained non-profit status.

IV. DISCUSSION OF MTNA’S RESOLUTION RE MEDIATION WITH PORTLAND
PARKS & RELATED ISSUES, INCLUDING PENDING/PROPOSED ACTIONS RE
MT. TABOR MAINTENANCE YARD AND NURSERY.

John Laursen advised that Portland Parks and Recreation(PPR) has agreed to co-mediators. Shannon Locke presented a large packet of documents copied from PPR records. She suggested that the city reimburse the MTNA for the cost of copying the documents.
